Everlast Elite Training Gloves Review Complete Breakdown

Let’s get a close-up look at these entry-level training gloves by Everlast:

Material (3.6 / 5.0)

The synthetic outside casing of synthetic leather that they refer to as Faux leather is given here. Just like their premium gloves, one large piece of foam is placed under the leather that ensures your arms remain in line the whole time.

Also, you have their Evershield technology which is nothing but kind of their moisture waking liner material. They integrate everything in such a way that you have foam from the top of the knuckle area all the way down to the back of the wrist.

These are the same premises that they use for their higher-end elite boxing gloves except for this synthetic leather material.

The main issue I found with this Faux leather material is: That if you use these gloves for a prolonged period of time, it starts to get really brittle and crack as compared to genuine leather, especially when you don’t clean these gloves regularly

Design (4.2 / 5.0)

This pair of gloves features a slightly different shape and fitting which helps them to stand out. A nice Everlast brand logo is printed across the knuckle area with great piping from the inside to maintain the shape.

A medium size grip-bar with a nylon attached thumb is provided here, which is become a kind of new standard for any entry-level gloves.

Along with that, You also get three and a half inches of velcro closure with an elastic piece. To be honest, I am not a big fan of half velcro closure just because it’s not very strong.

Although you do have a ventilated mesh palm that supposes to ensure breathability and comfort but I find it very thin.

You get a pretty dense three-quarters of an inch of padding to the back of your wrist whereas only an eighth of an inch from inside. But: for entry-level gloves, this is kind of what you get.

I got mine in a red-black color scheme but they also have other options in black and blue color combinations.

Craftsmanship (3.5 / 5.0)

These gloves are made in China but do have a pretty-decent craftmanship. I think the stitching is pretty good and neatly done. The synthetic leather is tightly pulled all over the glove but does show little slack inside the gloves.

Nevertheless, I think the overall quality of these gloves is definitely a lot better than lots of other training gloves.

I also weigh these gloves individually. The right glove weighs in at about 14.2 ounces whereas the left glove is 13.9 ounces. I think they’re almost on point with their weights at 14 ounces, which is always good to see.

Comfort (3.8 / 5.0)

Thanks to the single-piece foam, you get a nice consistency across your knuckle area. However, I notice a lot of little bumps inside the foam and I think it could be a little better but I am glad that they don’t use injected molded foam padding.

The actual ergonomics of this elite model are pretty good and you can feel it when you slide your hand inside. You get a great thumb placement with a nice and deep finger compartment.

The Evershield technology I mention earlier definitely provides you great protection and almost negates the backward movement of your wrist when you accidentally throw a punch at the wrong angle. I definitely give them credit for this.

Price Range (3.4 / 5.0)

Everlast elite training gloves cost around $40. I think this is a little expensive considering the fact that you can actually get a much better pair of gloves by investing around $20 more into this.

You get 3 different colors to choose from in several different choices. I got mine in 14 ounces but you can get anything from 8 ounces to 16 ounces.

You can usually find these gloves at most of the local sports stores and department stores like Walmart or Target.

Although this pair of gloves do a decent job of absorbing shocks these are definitely not puncher’s gloves. I won’t say it’s bad for entry-level training gloves but you could do better in terms of the actual padding.

If you can push your budget up $70, these Venom Elite boxing Gloves are many superior gloves than this and offers you the best value for your money.

But: If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option that is little extra protective in terms of your knuckles, I would suggest you go with these RDX boxing Gloves. They are very cheap but don’t compromise in terms of protection.

My Final Verdicts

I would say, these are pretty much standard run-in-the-mill gloves. I do see some of these gloves tear off, especially when you try to use them for your heavy training. Basically, you’re getting what you’re paying for.

I would give these gloves a 3.7 out of 5-star rating. (Check out the Latest Price)

These are training gloves that are intended to be more towards the people that are getting into boxing and obviously don’t want to make a huge expense right in the beginning.

If you’re someone who has never done boxing before and is excited to get started with the sport, these gloves are definitely a great choice for you.
